Our team worked with Reflection Pointe, a luxury gated HOA community in Belmont, NC, to transform their lawn. Initially, it had patches of brown grass and didn't have the healthy, verdant appearance they wanted. So, we got to work on changing that. This project took place over several months, during which we applied four fertilization, two weed control, three preventative lawn disease control, lawn insect control, and poa annua treatments. We also administered lime and carbon applications, plus performed aeration and overseeding. As a result of everything we did, the lawn is now healthy, lush, and full of green grass.
We applied fertilization, weed control, lawn insect, and disease control treatments.
This lawn transformation project took place over several months, requiring routine care to yield the results our team and the HOA wanted. So, we applied four fertilization treatments - in February, April, September, and November. The February application helped to promote the lawn's green color and encourage strong root development, while our April treatment prepared it for the stress of the summer season. Meanwhile, our September fertilizer helped the turf recover from any summer-related damages and provided a nutrient boost for the seeds we would plant in the fall. Finally, our November treatment served as a winterizer, promoting optimal verdancy and heavy root growth in preparation for the winter season.
We also wanted to ensure the lawn would stay weed-free. So, we administered two pre-emergent weed control treatments in the spring to prevent broadleaf weeds from sprouting, along with poa annua treatments. Additionally, our team utilized a lawn insect control application to combat grubs and armyworms. We even applied three preventative lawn disease control treatments to prevent fungal diseases from establishing and ensure the turf remained healthy.
Our Lime & Carbon Applications Improved the Overall Quality of the Soil
Our team determined that the soil's pH was too acidic, which inhibited the turf's ability to absorb vital nutrients and resources. Because of this, we applied a lime treatment to balance its pH. Not only that, but we also utilized a carbon application to improve the overall quality of the soil and set up the turf for long-standing success.
We performed aeration and overseeding to bolster new, healthy grass growth.
During this lawn transformation project, we didn't leave anything out. On the contrary, we also performed core aeration in the fall to loosen compacted soil and help resources and nutrients reach the roots of the grass. That way, it could absorb more of everything it needs to thrive. In conjunction with aeration, our pros overseeded the lawn since the holes created provided an optimal spot for the seeds; they had an increased chance of successfully germinating and developing roots with direct soil contact. Plus, they received much-needed nutrients from our September fertilization treatment, which bolstered new, healthy grass growth. After all this, the lawn is now at its prime and full of lush, beautiful grass.
